TEXAS - DAY 2 - LOST LUGGAGE

Finally here, but waiting on the kids' bag to be delivered.  Yeah, delivered.  Can you believe that?  So, I'll at least give that to American Airlines.  'Cause it's an hour drive from the airport to my Dad's.  And the poor old man they had dropping the bag off looked none too pleased that he'd drawn the short straw that morning.  Nevertheless, our little luggage family was finally reunited about 9:30am.

But we spent our first few hours on the farm still reeking of airplane air and that travel smell, harassing the chickens, the steers, and Grandpa.

Today's big lesson: Things to Watch Out For on the Ranch. Red fire ants, scorpions, rattlesnakes, cactus, and, of course, cow/horse/chicken poop. Our little Californians with their delicate skin and their flimsy vacay flip-flops were totally unprepared.
